Dublin Writers Museum
Home of Irish Literary Legends
Located in an elegant 18th-century mansion on Parnell Square, the Dublin Writers Museum was created to honour Ireland’s literary heritage. Inside you’ll find first editions, portraits, personal items, and rare manuscripts from many of Ireland’s greatest authors.
The museum features exhibits on W.B. Yeats, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, George Bernard Shaw, and more — a who’s who of literary excellence.
What to See and Do
Walk through themed rooms filled with typewriters, letters, and memorabilia. Listen to recordings of writers reading their own work. Take in the magnificent stained-glass windows and ornate ceilings while you explore the evolution of Irish storytelling.
Although currently closed for redevelopment, its legacy continues to be a key chapter in Dublin’s status as a UNESCO City of Literature.
Fun Fact
Ireland has produced four Nobel Laureates in Literature — all represented in this museum.
