Nestled in Ireland's Ancient East, Mount Congreve Gardens is considered one of the world’s leading private plant collections. Spread across 70 acres of landscaped woodland gardensand a 4-acre walled garden, the estate is home to over 3,000 species of trees, shrubs and plants collected from all corners of the globe.
Congreve family
Established in the 1760s, the Georgian estate was the residence of the Congreve family for six generations. Inspired by Lionel de Rothschild’s Exbury Gardens, the gardens were transformed in the 1950s under the direction of Ambrose Congreve and horticulturist Herman Dool.
Themed walks
Visitors can explore themed walks such as the Fragrant Walk, Woodland Garden Trail, and scenic riverside paths. Each route reveals seasonal colours, scents and botanical treasures.
