Patrick Pearse and St. Enda's School
In 1910, Patrick Pearse, an educator and nationalist, moved his innovative Irish-speaking school, St. Enda's, to the Hermitage estate. Here, he emphasized a curriculum rich in Irish culture, language, and nature. The school became a nurturing ground for future revolutionaries, with 15 former pupils participating in the 1916 Rising.
